WIFI IP Wireless Video Cameras

I thought this was a neat gadget for home security, so I’ll write about it. This camera features high quality video & audio, pan/tilt, remote internet viewing, motion detection, night-vision,  30Frames per second, we’re talking smooth video.  It’s and indoor camera or you could put it under the eaves. Set up the IP with your router and supply power.  It can be hard wired with RJ-45 connections if you prefer.  Notice too that this camera can be hard wired into your existing alarm system The Green connector. This camera can be setup to email you pictures once the IR is tripped.  You can then use a  smart app on your phone to access it live.  Control pan and tilt.  The camera can track about as fast as a fast paced walker.  While you view live data. Included is an internal Microphone for audio monitoring.

I want to mention there has been questions concerning this because you can listen in on conversations without the knowledge of the people you are monitoring.  This is a legal issue and my not be a problem.  It varies from state to state.  Some of the previous version had audio disabled with instructions on how to enable it.   I,  personally, wouldn’t worry about.

Remote viewing via local network or internet, record from anywhere anytime, motion detection alert via email or upload image to FTP. Supports all standard browsers, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod, Android & BlackBerry, Wi-Fi compliant (IEEE 802.11b/g). Smart apps not included but can be dwnloaded from the app store for your phone.

With a resolution of 640×480, Nite vision (8 meters, approx 24 feet) and 802.11b/g and 270 degrees of pan and 120 degrees of tilt. This is cool. I must point out that some cameras use a bonded DDNS, that it’s  is locked to a remote site. The camera needs it and you need to go to in order to get to your camera. This is  because you may not have a static IP Address.  Your ISP charges more for that.  This camera utilizes your wireless router. This camera provides a free DDNS site if you need to .   It’s simple web based setup will get you up and running in no time.

Please note:  Infra Red is hard to detect bodies if the temperature above 98 degrees.  I know it detects changes in temperature but if you live in say Arizona that might be a problem.

You can also add a 10db antenna to increase range.

Also available in white.

Notice the green connector, this allows you to hook the camera up to an existing alarm system. The advanced model gets it’s power over ethernet, if you hardwire it.

The above graphic shows how the systems connect.  It’s simple.

Software is included.  Notice the controls on the right side.

Loftek now has a newer model with better specs, The cxs3200, or the Loftek Aegis with a RISC Processor and support for up to 32g Tf memory for built in recording. FoxCam is another brand that has good reviews.  Specs are a little different.  Check them out in our Coffee Shop under Security & Surveillance
