Top 5 things to do when your Internet slows down
There is nothing more frustrating than sitting down on your computer and the Internet is crawling slowing almost to a halt. Well here are some tips that may help get you going again.
Clear the cache and temporary files in your browser.
In Firefox click on Tools in the top menu then select Clear Recent history. The next screen you can select everything, then select Clear Now.
In Internet Explorer Click on Tools in the Top menu then select Clear Recent History then Select Delete.
If that doesn’t do it. Unplug your Router and Cable or DSL Modem wait 20 seconds and plug it back in.
That’s about all you can do. If you call your Internet Service Provider They will walk you through the same procedure.
If all else fails you can replace your ISP modem or router.
I personally believe that the routers that you by today are not meant to last. I have to replace mine about once a year. Remember they are powered up 24 hours a day 7 days a week all year long. Also lightning can burn up a router real quick so you may want to unplug it during those thunder storms.
Something to think about….the more people in your Neighborhood, the slower the network. Getting the super fast Internet package might not be to your advantage. The reason for this, is that the sites you visit and the connections to get there may not be as fast as you. You may still be waiting for the other end to send back the data you require.
