Microsoft Blue Windows 8.1

“Blue” Windows 8.1 update will be Free!

 Windows 8 upgrade

Windows Blue is officially Windows 8.1 as of May 15 2013. An update due out in late 2013, with a pre release in June 26, 2013. Timed to coincide with the Build developer conference in San Francisco. Microsoft has announced that for current Windows 8 users the update is Free….Yes Free.

Basically it has been said to be a set of upgrades that the user can add and turn on when they “are Ready” ????

My only problem with windows 8 has been the freezing up for 30-40 seconds daily.  Mostly with Firefox Browser.

Improvements are said …

to be a start button ( I use Pokki), and boot to desktop will also be added.

Tami Reller, chief marketing officer and chief financial officer of the Windows division said that “to date Microsoft has updated the various versions of Windows 8 OS 739 times. Windows 8.1, however, will offer significantly more changes than those frequent fixes.”  I wonder what the number is for my version?

I’ll revisit this topic as more information becomes available.
