The Qosmio X875 gaming laptop from Toshiba.
The Toshiba’s Qosmio line include many serious, desktop-replacement sort of laptops. All Qosmios have 17.3” screens, and powerful CPUs, graphics cards, and tons of storage space. For gaming, design, or any CPU intensive activity, pretty much the Qosmio laptops series can fit the bill.

The specific model I’m reviewing here is the Qosmio X875-Q7380. The Toshiba Qosmio X875 Notebook PC, to start out with, the first thing anybody can notice is the design. Toshiba opted to give the Qosmio a mix between the modern, clean styling with a definite “techy” feel to it. The red trim really sets off the looks from any other laptop, and the diamond pattern on the cover and on the inside both looks and feels good, while being pretty resistant to things such as fingerprints compared to some other laptops. In a way, it reminds me a bit of carbon fiber, which is not a bad thing at all.
Continuing on, the entire touch-pad and mouse button is all one, so you can use the mouse in the same spot where you would click. This makes using the touch-pad much easier, and I’m one to usually hate touch-pads. The keyboard is also easy to use and firm, not bendy feeling.
Another plus to this is…
that the whole keyboard lights up in red to match the trim, which looks very cool and makes it easy to use the computer in dark settings. Also on the outside you can notice the four blue USB ports, signaling that they are all USB 3.0. There is also a sleep-and-charge function which allows you to charge your USB powered devices while the computer is off, which comes in pretty handy if you’ve got a lot of gadgets.
Finally, you’ve got your DVD-R, and a card reader. A couple harman/kardon speakers behind vents wrapped in shiny metal finish out the exterior.
The only serious gripe I have with the whole setup is the position of the CPU vent. It’s located on the back right of the computer, and depending on where you put your hand if you use a mouse, you can feel the heat from, however, this does not present any influence in its functioning.
I’ve been using the Qosmio X875 for several months now. It’s a great performer as a gamer laptop, multimedia machine or computer desktop replacement.
